Bayberry Beer Hall

Website Design for the Modern American Beer Hall Rooted in New England Community and Craft

Bayberry Beer Hall

Bayberry Beer Hall is a modern American beer hall in Providence, Rhode Island, founded by Tom and Natalie Dennen around the belief that great beer, honest food, and good company belong together. Caol designed the website to match the warmth and openness of the space, bringing clean navigation, intentional typography, and a visual clarity that guides guests naturally toward what they came for. The work also included SEO structuring and a custom gift card e-commerce build that continues to perform well beyond launch.

Walk into Bayberry Beer Hall and something shifts, warm light, communal tables, the smell of sourdough pretzel and beer cheese in the air, and the immediate sense that someone thought carefully about every single detail of this place. Founded by Tom and Natalie Dennen, Bayberry draws its spirit from a traditional German Biergarten experience and grounds it firmly in New England, with a rotating roster of regionally crafted beers and a menu that celebrates local ingredients. Caol was brought in to make sure the website matched that same intention completely.

The design direction prioritized clarity and openness above everything else. Clean navigation, intentional typography, and a visual tone that felt natural and grounded gave the site the same easy, welcoming quality the physical space delivers, where nothing competes for attention and everything serves the guests. Pages are structured to guide visitors naturally toward browsing the menu, exploring upcoming events, and reserving their spot at the table.

SEO was built into the foundation of the site, with page structure, heading hierarchy, and keyword placement all reviewed and tightened to improve search visibility and bring in more organic traffic. Several key pages were not connected to the navigation at all, effectively invisible to search engines despite existing on the site. Folder structure and page nesting were rebuilt so the architecture translated directly to cleaner navigation and pages that could finally be found.

The standout addition was a fully custom gift card e-commerce experience. Rather than relying on an off-the-shelf solution, the checkout was built with dynamic pricing logic that automatically factored in Rhode Island tax rates, activation fees, and shipping costs at the point of purchase. Custom imagery and dollar amount tiles made the shopping experience feel on-brand and effortless. The setup was precise enough that it required no adjustments after launch, and delivered a strong return through the holiday season and well beyond.
